Amazing Display:

This system boasts an excellent display, one of the best you will get in this price. It has an HD LED display that supports a resolution of 1366 x 768. This HD display is also further supported by an ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics card. So if you are an avid gamer or a creative geek who likes to play with multimedia, this is definitely your system. The heavy specs of the system also support the speed with which graphics are processed. Personally, I highly recommend this system if you are going for high end graphics in a reasonable budget.

However, there is one problem in the display that has been frequently reported. The display gets dark after 6,7 months. Many users have reported this problem but HP treats it like it isn't a problem at all.

Processor:

HP for some reason chose to ship this system with AMD processors rather than Intel's, my best guess is that this was done to keep the price under check. Although the system has good specs, they could have been better supported with Intel processors. Although AMD processors have also shown extra ordinary performance and challenged Intel in several domains but they have still got to get to the point where Intel is now in terms of quality and speed.

Keyboard:

Although keys are very comfortably placed, durable and easy to use but there is an annoying array of short cut keys on both sides of the keyboard. Although HP has taken a good step to make its keyboard more interactive by adding short cut keys, users that are habitual of using old keyboards would definitely find it irritating. Most of the times when I hit the caps lock key or shift key while typing, usually the calculator opens. It is definitely very annoying when it keeps on happening.

Battery life:

Battery life suffers a blow because of the high specs of the system. Battery is drained out fast enough because it has to support 6 gigs of Ram and a 640 GB hard drive. The large display also takes up a lot of system power. HP says that its battery can run upto 4.5 hours but practically that is impossible if you are actually using the system. The thing that drains battery the most is the graphics card. If you are playing a game that takes up lot of resources like Call of Duty 4 or similar heavy games, the battery hardly last an hour.

Durability:

HP has been piling up really good components in its laptops but the durability doesn't meet that standard. Most HP users report problems in their laptops in the 1st year. Most of these complaints are related to physical damage. These problems have been very frequent for users having dv6 systems.
